Gary Bruderlin

MANAGER – REGIONAL CARE NSW

“What’s continued to motivate me, in all my work in the community, is supporting people to live as independently and safely as possible in their own home.”

Delivering care and understanding to RetireAustralia’s retirement communities, Gary Bruderlin, Manager of Regional Care in New South Wales, works closely with Glengara Care residents, families and team members to deliver amazing outcomes, each and every day.

With over 18 years’ experience in health care, initially working as a Community Nurse with the Central Coast Local Health District,  Gary’s extensive experience underpins his empathetic and compassionate approach to working with residents and families. He is responsible for supporting the Glengara Care team and Care Managers to perform their roles, providing guidance and education in areas like clinical nursing and manual handling.

Gary started with RetireAustralia in 2016, leading the Care team at Tarragal Manor, a complex of 79 serviced apartments providing residents who have increasing care needs with care and support, without having to sacrifice the comforts of home. In 2019 he progressed to Senior Village Manager at Tarragal Glen Retirement Village, a large retirement community in Erina on the Central Coast that offers both independent and assisted living, as well as in-home care services and respite care.

This hands-on experience caring for residents and managing a large retirement community gives Gary a unique insight into the intricate benefits and challenges that come with providing care in a retirement community.

“At Glengara Care we provide tailored care and services, treating you as an individual, focusing on your strengths and abilities. If your care needs change, we are able to increase your support however and whenever you need it. The ability to offer nursing-home-level care while supporting residents to live with confidence and dignity is a key difference.”

“What’s continued to motivate me, in all my work in the community, is supporting people to live as independently and safely as possible in their own home.”

Today, Gary’s focus is working with NSW Village Managers and Care Managers and their teams to deliver the best possible care and support to our residents. Gary is highly motivated to continually create easy, manageable ways of integrating care to promote positive health and wellbeing outcomes and a high quality of life for residents.

In addition to innovating the delivery of care, Gary facilitates training our dedicated team to ensure the standard of care is always at the highest level. Residents at Glengara Care live with freedom and confidence in their own homes knowing they have the support of an experienced team by their side.

“The journey of care is different for everyone. One size doesn’t fit all and in essence that’s what we’re moving away from. Through understanding and dedication we are trying to achieve a unique fit for each family. To ensure residents receive the level of care they need, when they need it.”

Gary says, “Whichever way I can assist, I’m driven to continue helping our teams deliver quality care, which in turn empowers our residents to live their best lives.”
